What Genuinely Can Void or Limit Cover

Modifications that affect the part that fails (an aftermarket tune affecting an engine claim, for instance), servicing that skips required items or uses clearly unsuitable parts, damage from an accident or misuse, and normal wear items (tyres, brake pads, wiper blades) which typically aren't covered by warranty at all regardless of who services the car.

What Protects You

Keeping every invoice and logbook stamp, regardless of where you service, is what actually protects you if a claim is ever disputed — not the location of the workshop. A paper trail showing the correct work was done at the correct interval with suitable parts is the strongest position you can be in.
