Gaps of several years, or intervals that don't roughly match the manufacturer's schedule, are worth asking the seller about directly.
Odometer Red Flags
Wear on the driver's seat, steering wheel and pedals that seems inconsistent with a low odometer reading is a classic sign worth noticing. Service invoices showing higher distance readings than the current odometer is a definitive red flag — check the distance recorded on the most recent few service invoices against what the odometer currently shows.
Digital Records
Many manufacturers now keep digital service records tied to the vehicle rather than relying solely on a paper logbook, which are harder to falsify. If a seller claims full service history but can't produce anything beyond their word, that's worth treating with more caution than a seller who can show invoices or digital records.
