A Burning Clutch Smell (Manual Cars)
A sharp, resinous smell after a lot of clutch use (hill starts, heavy traffic) usually means the clutch has been slipping and generating excess heat — not usually an immediate emergency, but worth having checked soon.
The general rule: Any burning smell paired with visible smoke, or an electrical smell specifically, means pull over and turn the engine off. A one-off smell after unusually hard driving (a long hill, heavy traffic) that doesn't recur is less urgent but still worth mentioning at your next service.
